Take the small path just over the entrance road to Stonehenge, on the right This leads you right oast the stones and some lovely picture opportunities. It then goes over grass to a double gate beside the A303. You need to cross over the A303 to be able to ride safely up the hill on the pathway and then cross back over at the top to rejoin the gravel. Or simply cycle uo the grass verge as I did but this is a lot more sketchy. A fantastic ride and you are only 10 mins from the end.

Larkhill Camp – Eerie Order on the Edge of the Plain Larkhill Camp feels like riding through a live blueprint of military precision. This historic garrison town, perched on the northern edge of Salisbury Plain, isn’t your typical village stop — it’s a place where wide tarmac roads stretch between regimented rows of near-identical housing blocks, all arranged with deliberate symmetry. Founded in the late 19th century as an artillery training base, Larkhill is still an active military camp, home to the Royal Artillery. You’ll feel that presence in the design — everything is clean, uniform, and spaced out. There’s a peculiar quiet, even when the camp is busy, and it lends a kind of surreal calm to your ride through. While not a classic beauty spot, it’s fascinating in its own right — a moment of stark contrast between the ancient wildness of the Plain and the tightly ordered world of the MOD. It’s not uncommon to hear distant explosions or spot helicopters overhead. And just beyond, the landscape opens up again into chalk trails and flint-edged bridleways. 🚴‍♂️ Bikepacker Tip: Water and supplies are limited here — the camp isn’t set up for tourists — so fill up in nearby Durrington or Amesbury if you’re heading across the Plain. Yeah unless you're a sicker for punishment this is proper gravel and should be ridden on 40mm+ tyres for best enjoyment. Some pretty steep inclines, it's not a flat ridgeway.

Collingbourne woods is nowhere near this point, I rode all the way from Shrewton to check this out and then found out Collingbourne woods is miles away from here.

The Woodford has a number of enjoyable winding country roads that are relatively quiet and well-surfaced and offer beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Pothole city, found it hard to avoid them while also looking at the view. Doable on a road bike sure, but you'll be staring at the ground the whole time. Also tough to cross the A303 at any time.

This Byway is outside the active range area and is not subject to the Red Flag restrictions, so enjoy anytime.

There is a large military training area north of Stonehenge. Comes also suggests paths that lead through this area. However, you can't always drive through here. Watch out for the red flags. If these hurt, then you have to choose another path.

This track heading north and then crossing the A303 (carefully) goes past Stone Henge and you can great views from the bridle way.

The Iron Age hillfort at Bratton Camp was first carved into the chalk downland over 2000 years ago. The earthworks would have protected a settlement of round houses, granaries, storehouses and workshops. Its strategic position would have afforded residents a far-reaching view and advance warning of any potential attackers. But Bratton's human history stretches back even further than the Iron Age. Three thousand years earlier, a Neolithic long barrow existed here, and 19th century excavations unearthed human skeletons and evidence of cremations. Today, this area of chalk grassland is rich in wildlife, including many important plants that provide a habitat for insects, including the rare Adonis Blue butterfly and the scarce forester moth. Visible from many miles around, Westbury White Horse, which lies just below Bratton Camp, was probably originally cut in the late 1600s to commemorate the Battle of Ethandun, which is thought to have taken place at Bratton Camp in AD 878.

Collingbourne Wood doesn't have a lot of trails in fact it's only got one, but it's a still a ice place to go for a pedal about and the trail thats there is good. Look out for wooden shelter for the start.
