Lovely bit of street art on the side of the Chisholm Trail bridge.

In the summer you can rent cycles adjacent the NT building (near the cycle stands) at Wicken Fen. The cafe there is good but I'd recommend parking your cycle in your eyeline unless you have secure locks (take your removable valuables off the cycle)-it gets very busy around those stands.

Accessed westbound via a sharp, narrow chicane just before the entrance to Anglesey Abbey. Using it eastbound requires crossing against the oncoming traffic at both ends. Fine for tourers, fast road cyclists are probably better sticking to the road.

It has nice views to the fields next to the road. Not very easy to access going east, the entry is a few meters after the “Park Farm” house

A nice peaceful towpath ( if it’s quiet) runs from Chesterton, past Milton and ends at Clayhithe bridge.

A good place to cross the river Cam, makes a good short cut from Newmarket Road to Chesterton.

Cock-Up bridge crosses the Burwell Lode near Adventurer's Fen car park. There has been a bridge here for years, the older horse (and bike) friendly bridge was replaced by one with steps, plans are afoot to replace the bridge with a cycle friendly version.

The riverside path from Ely is narrow, lumpy tarmac - single file only - and once it leaves the river towards Wicken you're on dirt and stones. Best done on a gravel or touring bike.

Provides a direct link from Cambridge North station and the busway to the city centre.

Avoid this route if your bike is too heavy to easily lift and you don't have anyone with you to help. The steps are very steep, and I've crossed this bridge with an ebike that was 40% of my own weight, and wouldn't recommend it.

Wicken Fen and White Fen are places that are a must for any biker in Cambridgeshire.

Beautiful spot to rest for a while.

That mechanical bridge is never down, don't dream!. You will have to push your bike through the Steel Bridge which is really steep.

Stop if you like nature or just stop if you want refreshment's or the loo. There is also a bike rental shop who may be able to help you out if you have a problem with your bike.

Use the footbridge if the bridge is up.. has guides for the bike wheels so you don't have to carry your bike.

Cycle and foot bridge next to the railway. On the Fen Rivers Way route this would be a good spot to choose what side of the river you want to walk along
