Nice gravel track down to the reservoir with lovely views. Track down can get muddy but good fun. Do-able on a gravel bike

Easy walking along the Eastern and Southern edges of the reservoir, courtesy of the Gower Way (a 35-mile path linking Penller Castell to Rhossili if you fancy stretching your legs a little further). Fantastic views.

Lower Lliw Cafe is open between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Nov - Feb) and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the rest of the year.

This lovely cycle and walking path was a steelworks until the 1980s. Steel sculptures commemorate the town’s industrial heritage along certain points of the path.

Cyclists need to be aware of vehicles and walkers using the road between the Lower and Upper reservoir.

A cycle path leads amongst tall grass, sand and salt marshes here, overlooking the sea. The landscapes attract a huge array of birds. The marshes are just up the coast from the National Wetlands Centre. Look out for sand on the path and be prepared to push at times. The wind dumps sand across the marshes.

Rough ground on the cycle path, would recommend gravel bike or more

The lower reservoir is not suitable to go around. There are steep steps at one end.

Llanelli's wetland centre is a vast area of ponds, marshes and enclosures. There's plenty of amazing birdwatching to be had here, from native herons to Caribbean flamingoes calling the centre home. The Millennium Coastal Path cycle and hiking route goes past the centre and it's easy to visit. Amazing little trail through the woods, very picturesque. Well worth a visit! Some parts of the trail are very muddy and a few logs to climb over but my four year old son coped well on his bike

Flood defence management. Cool engineering and way flow control. Bear right in the dip just past the sign to follow the nice streamside wide gravel track back into Bont.

Horse riders damaged this trail as of 02.07, jumps damaged.

Expect a tough climb especially after the hills that lead to this point! Perhaps a little “pushing” will be required but nice decent on the other side. Lovely views of your stopping for a “breather”!
