The old Station at Whitwell, great stop spot, cafe, and facilities.

Marriott's Way is a 26-mile (42km) surfaced multi-user path which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, running between Aylsham and Norwich.

It's a nice feature to test your handle bars cycling up to the road. :) However, once up on the road, do not get confused by the Marriott Way sign across the road pointing leftward, as you need to turn right and left onto Station Road and descend down quite a chunky gravel descent (possibly due to construction work).

Whatever they told you on YouTube about this Cycling road- do not go with a road bicycle in that forest.

Perfect spot for an iced coffee and piece of cake. Nice shaded seating areas.

As of 9th May 2023, parts of Marriotts Way north of Drayton are a total mudbath and only suitable for MTBs. The surface coming into Norwich is worn out and bumpy but at least dry.

Open Wednesday to Sunday, this is a great stop for cyclists or walkers on the Marriott's Way.

Dog friendly and highly rated, Junction 21 Tea Room sits at the sharpest point of the Themelthorpe Curve on Marriott's Way. It is an excellent pit stop if doing the Themelthorpe loop, at around halfway.

Good, friendly place to stay.

Organised cycle rides set off from The Parson Woodforde in Weston Longville every week. The pubs owners have teamed up with Wensum Valley Cycling to offer organised rides on Tuesday mornings, Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. Whether you are a club rider, a complete beginner or enthusiast, you are welcome to go along and ride. The club welcomes visitors and you can ride with them 3 times before a membership is required. St Edmund’s church in Taverham has an unusual outer appearance with its thatched chancel which looks slightly higher than the nave. The tower here has 11th century origins, with a lower, west slit window having a flint frame. Higher up on the south side is a stone-framed window, which indicates later 11th century work. The part of Marriott's way between Cawston and Alysham is maybe a bit bumpy for those looking for a smoother ride or road bikes.
