The park has different trails, including flat paths and steeper climbs. If you're looking for a challenge, try the route up Clipstone Tip for spectacular views.

An excellent cafe stop before or after visiting the historic castle which is not far from here.

Brilliant fun did it first time there ways round it

This 10-foot-high sculpture of a human hand was created by an artistic cooperative called BANK well over 20 years ago. It was crafted as part of a national cycling network project, organized by the charity Sustrans. From afar, it appears to be constructed of metal, however, it’s in fact made from fiberglass.

Take care if descending down the hill under the bridge, the rock gap is very narrow to negotiate

good starting point for walks and bike rides, can easily get into sherwood pines from here and all surrounding routes, a very nice area and seems popular for fishing

Used to carry the railway line to Clipstone colliery

Sherwood Pines is a perfect place for MTBs. There are 3 different trails with different difficulty levels. Good for any abilities.

"Back Door" entry point to join the Sherwood Pines Red or Blue Trails from Vicar Water Country Park & the Maun Valley

Great place for some XC mountain biking. Nothing very extreme so really good for Beginners or youngsters. If you're looking for hardcore downhill or bike park Wales-type trails you'll be disappointed as there is not much in the way of elevation. Cafe on-site and a bike shop too with a jet wash to clean your bike off after your ride. Can get very busy at weekends.

1st is a Rock 🪨 slabs, but can be avoided via a route on the side. 2nd is drop , if don't want do that there to exit routes on either side.

This where the Blisthrope cycleway, other bridleways meets Sherwood Pines. You can either follow the forest road towards the trail centre or go on to the blue route or further up join the technical red route.

There are 3 lines on this drop if you don't fancy take the ones on the side
