Fron Bygdatun is a local heritage site assembled to recreate a historic husmannsbruk – a smallholder’s farm typical of the Fron area in earlier centuries. The site includes several modest buildings, complete with a vintage sawmill powered by a sawmill wheel, giving visitors a sense of how such small farms functioned and what life might have felt like.

Kvam is a small but historic village in Gudbrandsdalen, best known as the site of heavy fighting during World War II in 1940. Today it’s a peaceful stop with a war memorial, a distinctive wooden church and a couple of cafés where you can pause before continuing along the valley.

A tough climb to the summit. In Vinstra, the climb begins on asphalt and later changes to gravel. A hilly section follows, before finally reaching the summit, with a decent gradient and a few switchbacks. The magnificent scenery is, of course, a great reward.

While the section is indeed very beautiful, it's not suitable for inexperienced gravel riders due to the very rocky terrain before and after the wooden planks. If you don't mind dismounting and pushing when things get too tricky, you'll be able to get through. The rest of the section is easier to ride.

As a cross-country skiing area, the terrain here is relatively flat, making the climb to this vantage point worthwhile.

Beautiful stretch immersed in nature. Be careful: the ground can be wet and slippery.
