In the Oudemanskreek you will find the sculpture group by artist Chris Ferket on the water surface, 'When the fox preaches passion, farmer beware of your geese'. Meaning: if a deceiver starts saying pious things, you should be extra careful. The sculpture group is a playful reference to the epic of Reinaert the Fox. The artwork was placed following the competition 'A home for a sculpture', which was organised by Radio 2 and IMEWO. Information panels provide more information.

A cozy tavern with a nice outdoor terrace overlooking a sea of space, read Oudemanskreek. Additional explanation: No region is as well-known for eel dishes as the creek area in the Meetjesland. Especially eel 'in the green' or 'in the cream' are typical for the region. De Roste Muis is one of the well-known eel restaurants in the region. The creeks as remaining witnesses of flooded polders from times gone by housed large populations of eel. For many fishermen it was once a mischievous activity to catch eel with cross nets and to bluff the line fishermen. Fancy it? It is becoming a bit extreme, there are too few jumps in succession, where I think you cannot reach sufficient speed, I fear that there will be more serious accidents and that it will soon be over to acquire some technical skills there
