A quiet village on top of a hill, it is worth stopping in one of the various infernots in the town to enjoy the focaccia with salami typical of the area with a glass of wine. A stop that after the climb is absolutely p.e.r.f.e.t.t.a!

This statue was commissioned in 1857 by the Marquis della Valle by a sculptor from Milan, after a devastating flood, on the site of a modest chapel which in turn celebrated a previous disastrous event. The presence of this small monument signals the dramatic traces that the river Po has left on this territory

In the "lower" square, as soon as you arrive, there is a fountain with fresh water. I recommend continuing to the belvedere, still a bit of effort but the view is breathtaking!

San Salvatore Monferrato is a small village on the outskirts of Monferrato.

In the place where today we see the little Madonna (which looks like a Gallo-Roman matron) there was the famous Culiëta, another stone of Monferrato folklore which, like the one "of the storm" predicted the weather by getting wet or dry. A wall painting reminds her a little further on. However, it seems that the large stone is still walled up above the Madonna.

Pleasant dirt road that offers magnificent views of the Monferrato hills. Very little shade (at the crossroads of the dirt road to Mirabello there is an oak tree that offers some), in summer it can easily become an open-air oven: better to do it in the morning or late afternoon.
