Nice, historic, relaxing...a beautiful ride along the Oglio cycle path.

As of September 2025: the roads are now pretty washed out, and riding a road bike is more of a struggle than a pleasure. With 28 mm, I barely made it through with only one flat tire. For those who like to take risks or ride gravel bikes, the view is definitely worth it!

To reach Montecchio di Darfo, starting from Boario, you cross the so-called "Roman Bridge," also known as the Montecchio Bridge. It is a scenic 24-meter, single-span bridge, built from blocks of granite and Simona stone in 1686, over the remains of an older bridge that connected the medieval castle on Monticolo to the opposite bank of the river. Breathtaking bike tour up the Passo Crocedomino to the abandoned NATO radar station Dosso dei Galli. In comparison to the South Tyrolean Alps, the traffic is pleasantly quiet and not overcrowded.

This is not a radar but a radio system, a troposcatter.
