The Bandia barracks are still clearly visible remains of what remains of the great defensive work dating back to the Second World War. It is surprising to note how some of these are now decorated with herbs and flowers that silently take back their spaces. You are at over 2,000 meters above sea level, the mountain landscape surrounds you and embraces you. With a little attention you can hear the whistles of the marmots that hide in the green meadows.

Colle Margherina is easily accessible in summer from the Gardetta and Bandia plateaus. It offers a panoramic view of the Stura valley and a magnificent view of Rocca la Meja. If you pass by here, you can't resist the thought of stopping to admire the almost extraterrestrial landscape that surrounds you and take a deep breath.

Colle del Preit welcomes you at the gates of the Gardetta plateau. The landscape here seems almost lunar with the rock that rises imposingly among the soft green meadows. You are at over 2000 meters above sea level, the climb to get there requires the right amount of effort and the atmosphere is truly unique. Admiring the panorama that surrounds you sharpens your sight and hearing, the whistle of some marmots reveals their presence among the rocks.
