10월 2, 2025, Three Lochs Forest Drive
Be aware cars have 1-way access around the Three Lochs Forest Drive and not all drivers understand that cyclists can ride this gravel road in both directions. I found the Three Lochs Forest Drive quite busy with cars late afternoon mid week.

10월 2, 2025, Loch Drunkie
There are a few beautiful wild camping spots around Loch Drunkie. From March to September a permit for a Camping Management Zone is needed, which you can get through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park website. From October to February, you do not need a permit. please wild camp responsibly and Leave No Trace.

The waterfall of the little fawn is hidden in the forest but easily reached on the cycle route. Expect to see the fall flowing all year round.

7월 12, 2025, Tom Weir Statue
Balmaha at 19 miles (30.5 km) is the first official checkpoint on the West Highland Way race. On the shore of Loch Lomond, it's accessible by road or ferry. There is a visitor centre, cafés and restaurants. Good spot to run Conic Hill if you aren't running the whole WHW. There is a statue of Tom Weir, staring across the loch. Tom was a lifelong lover of Scotland as well as a writer, broadcaster and climber.

Good stopping off point with about half the climb done. Nice space to brew up, it is also one of the permitted camping spots.

A fun off-road alternative for getting across the River Dochart. Suitable for all bike types, it provides a great view of the river and the old stone road bridge.

Stuning spot, highly recommend. Great flat pitches, clean toilet block. Take your litter home is encouraged.

9월 11, 2024, Falls of Dochart
Beautiful and popular stop for tourists. There is a busy and reasonable pub at the falls where you can get food and beer. If busy there are plenty of options in Killin. Try the Courie Inn for food / beer; Shutters for breakfast / lunch / coffee. Depending on your timing there is the Secret Pizza or Fish & Chips van. Last resort there is a reasonable size CoOp.

1월 6, 2024, Clan MacNab Burial Ground
The burial place itself (which may date from the early 18th century) is at the far end of Inchbuie island and consists of a near-square rubble enclosure which is open to the elements. There are no openings except on the South elevation which has a central gated entrance flanked by a pair of openings, all segmentally arched. Atop the centre of the walls to the West and East are two stone heads of Neish's or savages, which form part of the Clan crest and the arms of the Chief. There are 15 graves within the burial place itself, nine of them being clan chiefs, including an apparently medieval slab effigy. A grave for 'Finlay Maknab' (d 1573-4) is located there. There are a number of graves also just outside the enclosure. The central part of the island is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, believed to contain 2 prehistoric forts. It is unclear when Inchbuie was first used as a burial place. It is possible that burials were taking place here from the medieval period onwards but that formalisation of the Island with its processional pathway, screen wall and enclosure was created in the late 18th century.

12월 23, 2023, Tom Weir Statue
Broadcaster, writer and climber Mr Weir died in 2006 aged 91. As well as presenting Weir's Way between 1976 and 1987, he wrote a monthly feature in the Scots Magazine for about 50 years. This bronze statue is a fitting memorial to him and not far from where he lived in Gartocharn.
