There is a burial mound from the Danish Bronze Age at this location.

At some points, the trail meets the regular bike path. Here, you can ride forward to the fjord shore and enjoy the superb view of the sea.

Beautiful wooded area east of Holbaek on the coast. There is a parking lot at the southern end and the mountain bike trail is well developed.

A peaceful and beautiful bird-rich lake that offers stunning views on both sides of the bridge. Part of the Selsø estate, it's a wonderful place to stop for a break, especially early in the morning or later in the day. Don't miss it.

One of many highlights of Jægerspris alongside the castle. Dismount and wander around the red brick buildings and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Danner Cafe or the excellent ice cream shop nearby offer a welcome reward.

A beautiful compacted gravel path through the fields with a lovely view of the fjord. Suitable for all bikes/tyre types, unless the weather has been really awful.

You don't even have to leave the Fjordstein Cycle Route 40 to enjoy this view. You don't even need to stop, you can just roll by and drink it in. I would recommend stopping, though, so you can go for a quick swim in the Lammefjorden - either before or after stopping for lunch in Gundestrup.

The roads around Skibby take you past beautiful nature and lovely little villages.
