Lovely views from Askham fell before the excellent decent towards Pooley Bridge.

Low Gardens Bridge spans the River Lowther at Earl Henry's Drive. It is an old Grade II listed stone arch bridge which has a new steel beam bridge next to it.

Among the many treasures of the English Lake District, Lowther Castle stands out. Built in the early 19th century on the site of two older houses, the castle once had a room for every day of the year and its gardens were famous in the north. Today, Lowther Castle is a great visitor attraction with dramatic ruins, beautiful gardens, and an adventure playground.

A nice place to stop after the walk

Probably the best way of getting from Howtown to Patterdale, nice climb up out of Howtown, a short steep section of bike carrying but then a killer down hill to brotherswater or patterdale

Greystoke is a lovely Cumbrian village boasting charming 17th-century cottages, a picturesque village green, and an ancient market cross with roots dating back to the early 1600s.

Brilliant cafe, gardens, adventure playground, walking and cycling trails. Large free car park is a brilliant place to start a bike ride.

A lovely village cafe, Open 10am to 5pm during the summer and 9:30am to 4pm from 11th September, closing only for Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s Days. Walkers, cyclists and dogs welcome.

The Cockpit Stone Circle is a large Bronze Age structure standing on an ancient crossroads. It's hard to date as it shows features expected in late and early Bronze Age circles but it's between 3,500 and 5,000 years old. It's wondered if this was used as a meeting place for the scattered local population, it may have had religious significance.

Gradual climb up followed by lovely gentle downhill ..... all with fab views. What's not to like!

Pretty little village tucked beneath the imposing fells of Blencathra (Saddleback), Bowscale and Carrock. The Caldew and Glenderamakin becks run through - perfect for picnics and paddling.

Greystoke is a village in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District. There has been a church here since 1255 and the cross in the village square dates back to the early 1600's.
