The Teufelsteich was created at the end of the 17th century for mining purposes. The dammed waters are the Teufelsgrundbach and the Siebengrundbach. An additional outflow was the Fürst-Victor-Kunstgraben, which flows into the Silberhütter Aufschlaggraben. Source: Wikipedia

The town hall was built in 1900 and 1901 on the site of a previous building built in 1639. The cellar vaults and two inscription panels from the previous building have been preserved. In the foyer there is a wooden panel from 1639 on which the names of the council members who commissioned the construction are listed. A relief from 1726 shows the town's coat of arms. Before the old building from 1639, another previous building already existed on the same site. Source: Wikipedia

During the construction of the Klostermansfeld - Wippra railway line from 1914 to 1920, the mountain spur on which Rammelsburg Castle is located was tunneled under. According to tradition, this was done on the initiative of the Heimburg family, who owned the castle at the time, so that their hunting grounds would not be affected.
