Paarup Kirke, just northwest of Odense, is a Romanesque village church from the 12th century, later expanded with Gothic features like vaulted ceilings and a tower. Inside, it holds a rich mix of medieval and Baroque elements, including a 13th-century granite font, a 1656 altarpiece and a 1679 pulpit with carved evangelist figures.

St. Albani's Church is the Catholic church in Odense, serving primarily immigrants from Poland and Germany, but also a large group of Vietnamese Catholics living here. The present-day Albani's Church is not the medieval church where King Canute was assassinated in 1086. This church was located halfway between the present-day St. Albani's Church and Odense Cathedral, which replaced the old church when it was demolished around 1540. The church is a neo-Gothic church with a 54-meter-high tower. The building was designed by German architect Ludwig Schneider from Breslau. The stained glass windows were created by Georg Schneider from Regensburg in Bavaria. The organ was built by the Rieger brothers from Jägerndorf in Austrian Silesia, and the altarpiece, which is carved from wood, was created in 1908 by Konrad Martiner from Sankt Ulrich in Tirol.
