Currently (29/3/24) blocked by landslides, flood damage and fallen trees so not recommended at end of March 2024.

A nice little place at the end of the loch. Perfect resting place after the descent and before the climb back inland.

follow the track over the bridge and break right

I was staying in Glenbranter Cottage so this walk appealed as I could do it from the door. Anyone else can park at the Glenbranter Car Park then walk up the forest road until you come to the turning left, over the bridge to Glenshellish Farm. Go over the bridge and follow the track to the right away from the farm. This is signed as the Glenshellish Loop

Benmore botanic gardens is a 120-acre mountainside garden surrounded by the dramatic scenery of Argyllshire. The gardens also have a tearoom. Perfect for a snack stop! Open daily from 1 March - 31 October, 10am - 5pm The Fernery opens at 11am and closes one hour before the Garden.

This was ment to be a short one but picked out new route, really enjoyed this one, some steep bits but relatively short lived. Good fun cycle.

A great circuit in either direction

Great downhill flowing section of forestry track with great views of the surrounding hills. At the forestry gate you can either return to the village on the newly refurbished Lochgoilhead Carriage Road or via a short section on the B839.

Highest point. Lovely views. Pretty relentless climb to here, but the scenery makes it worthwhile.

Also known as Loch Eich in Gaelic, this freshwater loch is some 7 miles (11 km) long, sited within the Argyll Forest Park and the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park on the Cowal Peninsula. The loch is a habitat for salmon, sea trout, brown trout and arctic charr, and along with Loch Lomond, is the only natural habitat of the powan fish.

If you are cycling on the west side of the loch it is passable on road tyres (I.e. 28c) but it is majority gravel so if you are wanting abit more fun/speed I would suggest some 37c tyres at least.
