The Lopper is a mountain in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden and a southeastern spur of Mount Pilatus. It forms a narrow peninsula connecting Lake Lucerne and Lake Alpnach.

First, the climb, then a gentle up and down to Bürgenstock. Be careful, there's a short push section at Bürgenstock. You'll always have a different view. Be careful, there's a short tunnel that's not lit, so don't forget your lights.

Take time for a short rest, then it goes steeply uphill

From up here you have fantastic views of the Stanserhorn and the Pilatus, towards Obwalden and Lucerne. The bench is definitely one of my favorites 😊

A few years ago, the company "geosuisse" surveyed the whole of central Switzerland for its anniversary. The experts found that the center is in our community of Buochs. They marked it with a plaque in the ground --- and let grass grow over it! Only a few people knew about this center and told the tourism president about it when they had the opportunity. At the 100th general meeting of Buochs-Ennetbürgen tourism in 2011, this center was uncovered and made accessible to the public. The center is located at the foot of the Buochserhorn, a few hundred meters above the village of Buochs near the Ribimattli water reservoir.
