On the hills around Spineto Scrivia, this panoramic point is located in the Rampina area and offers great views of the surrounding hills, vineyards and woods. The cart track here is wide and has a simple gravel, also very suitable for gravel bikes.

Being a stretch of international importance, being on the Po Ciclovia, now also known as VenTo, and above all part of Eurovelo 8, the coarse gravel surface is unacceptable; a sunny straight road that is a real torture for anyone who passes by by bicycle, whether a local commuter or a long-distance traveller. As far as I can remember, one of the worst sections of Eurovelo 8 between Barcelona and Split.

The bridge that crosses the Tanaro river with the town of Masio in the background. We are in a border area between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria and these are roads that I often travel and on which I feel very comfortable. The road in question is Provincial 247.

A quiet village on top of a hill, it is worth stopping in one of the various infernots in the town to enjoy the focaccia with salami typical of the area with a glass of wine. A stop that after the climb is absolutely p.e.r.f.e.t.t.a!
