In Strazda, you will find the old homesteads of the inhabitants that have survived. The people who once lived here loved to sing. Therefore, while studying this region, local historians collected about 200 different folk songs from these surroundings. The people living here also loved to weave, as evidenced by the looms standing in each hut. And those woven beautiful fabrics still adorn the homes of the residents of this village. Information about this village can be found as early as 1798. It is a forest ranger village. Its memory has been preserved and continues to be preserved in the Household Museum of the Aukštaitija National Park.

The chapel of St. John of Nepomuk is located in Strazdų village, Utena district, in the Aukštaitija National Park, near the bridge over the Buka River. The chapel is about 0.7 km from the border of the Ignalina district. The chapel of St. John of Nepomuk stood many years ago on the land of Vincas Strazdas near the bridge over the Buka River. St. John of Nepomuk is considered the patron saint of bridges, waters, travel, family life, good confession, rescuers, protector from floods, and intercessor for wrongly accused persons. According to folk tradition, he was a saint who saved fields and crops from rain and drought. Statues of St. John of Nepomuk are erected near rivers, streams, and springs. In 1993, the chapel of St. John of Nepomuk near the bridge over the Buka River was restored at the initiative of the National Park and local residents. A replica of the original preserved by the descendants of Vincas Strazdas was made. A copy of the statue of John of Nepomuk – the saint is depicted in bishop's robes, holding a prayer book in one hand and a cross in the other. An ornamented cross was installed at the top of the chapel's roof.

Reškutėnai was far from the towns, far from the church – all the neighboring churches were more than 10 kilometers away. The residents of the Reškutėnai village of the Kaltanėnai parish built a wooden chapel on their own initiative and with their own funds. The idea to build a church arose in 1914. A decade later, in 1924, the residents turned to the bishop, asking to recognize the chapel as public, to consecrate it and to allow services to be held in it. The organizers of the construction were Vincas Petkūnas (who was both the first sacristan and the bell ringer) and Vincas Lapėnas. On May 18, 1924, the chapel was consecrated by the Palūšė pastor Petras Prunskis. The church is a larger rustic-style chapel – of folk architectural forms, reminiscent of a traditional residential house, with a three-walled apse, a low side sacristy, a porch and a turret. There is only one altar - a large one, in the center of which hangs a copy of the Holy Mother of God of the Gates of Dawn. There is a wooden bell tower in the churchyard.

The Count of Luodžiai Manor, Jurgis Žiuniens, was preparing to leave for France and was selling his manor land. Several peasants from Salakas belonged to his manor and were called luodykščiai. The Count gave these peasants a few hectares of land each. In 1927, the Count presented the peasants with ownership documents at this pine tree. The peasants organized a feast in gratitude. In memory of this, a cross was nailed to the pine tree. Over time, other pine trees were cut down, but the loggers did not know why there was a cross on one of them and left it. Thus, this pine tree, remembering the Count's gift, remained to grow.

This place turned into private property this year (2025), and there’s a fence there now. No one really knows what’s going on or if visitors are still welcome. Kinda sad, but that’s how it is. You won’t get inside anymore, and tours aren't happening either. Not really worth coming here just for that.
