This route is really not recommended for retro-naturel...sand is just one thing, and rough stones don't make the ride any more pleasant...no eye for the beautiful nature, as you have to concentrate so hard on the road - maybe it was better in the past. A sandy stretch is tolerable, but over such a long stretch (it feels like an eternity)... Since we wanted to go to Groß Pampau (to the gravel pit lake) and all other options (via Steinau, etc.) would have been too much of a detour, we decided to go this way...maybe in the other direction, then you'd have less of an incline.

This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested. I spent the first 10 years of my life there. After primary school, I ran around fields, meadows and through the forest alone or with school friends until the sun went down and I had to be home for dinner.
