Beautiful path along the Elbe-Lübeck Canal

A beautiful route through the forest. It's a great place for cycling.

A really beautiful route

Even though the ground is loose, you can still ride well. There are always little rest stops along the canal – a good thing, especially at 38°C.

Documents prove that this charming half-timbered house with its carvings was built in 1573. Currently, the house houses an ice cream parlor, which invites you to linger simply because of its ambiance.

The path along the canal is easy to navigate, although some of the gravel is also manageable. It gives you a good jolt. Most importantly, you can observe and see many birds.

This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested.
