The view of Mölln from the Elbe-Lübeck Canal isn't particularly impressive, as the canal doesn't run directly through Mölln's town center. Nevertheless, it's a nice place to take a short break at the lake's edge and enjoy the view of the lake and the towers of Mölln's old town in the background.

The Schaalsee is nestled within the biosphere reserve of the same name and, at over 70 meters deep, is considered Northern Germany's deepest clearwater lake. Those who wish to swim here should only do so at designated areas—for example, in Dargow, Lassahn, Seedorf, or at the Zarrentin lido. The water quality is excellent, perfect for a refreshing dip on the go. The protected natural environment surrounding the lake is rich in species and tranquil—ideal for those who appreciate peace, clean air, and clear water. The beer and coffee garden is a pleasant place to relax.

The path along the canal is easy to navigate, although some of the gravel is also manageable. It gives you a good jolt. Most importantly, you can observe and see many birds.

A view of the Elbe Lübeck Canal and a bike ride along the canal is worthwhile in my opinion. You won't be disappointed.😊😊👍👍

Especially now in summer, someone always comes along and provides some variety. The path along the canal is easy to cycle or walk. The many bridges mean that tours can be lengthened or shortened individually.

The boardwalk protects you from getting wet feet when crossing the Hellbach in the Hellbachtal. I really like the handwritten information on the information board that people should please not leave cigarette butts at the shelter. I also always find these things in nature very annoying. 😡🚬🔥
