The Uns lütt Museum Dargun e.V. offers insights into rural life and regional development over the past 50 years, with a focus on historical agricultural and household appliances. Visitors appreciate the vivid, partially interactive exhibition, which is particularly valuable for young people as a glimpse into the past.

Dargun Monastery was the first Danish monastery founded in northern Germany in 1172. It was one of the largest Cistercian field monasteries in the 14th and 15th centuries. The oldest part of the church is a fieldstone building, remodeled and expanded in 1753. The apse was added in 1861. The nave has a flat wooden ceiling, and the chancel has a groin vault. The pulpit dates from 1753. On the north wall of the choir are parapet panels depicting depictions of the apostles, painted in 1697. The west gallery houses a Lütkemüller organ from 1860. Since 1990, a comprehensive conservation effort began on the entire complex with the aim of partially reconstructing it. The central section of the west wing was constructed, and the nave of the church was roofed. The brewery and granary, a long, elongated storehouse, the former guesthouse, now a local history museum, the remains of the gatehouse and gate chapel, and the 17th-century gabled gate have been preserved. Here, in the former brewery and granary of the Dargun Cistercian monastery, there is now, among other things, a monastery shop.

Broock Castle, once the social center of the region and the largest private stud farm in Western Pomerania, will be expanded into a supra-regional conference and cultural center in the coming years. Since May 2023, our guests will be served in the new village shop with café-bistro and beer garden.

Beautiful path along the Tollense, but can also be completely torn up at times. 🐗🐗

Nice place for a short break. You could park your car very close to the bridge and start and end your bike tour or hike there. (October 2024)

Demmin is an underrated small town. A detour is highly recommended for anyone travelling through Mecklenburg Switzerland. From the north, the town is practically the gateway to this region. During and after World War II, the town's citizens had to endure a lot of destruction. Despite this, enough substance and structure has been preserved and has been maintained in recent years to give an idea of how rich the town is in culture and history. The old warehouses at the port on the Peene River are examples of this and are a fantastic feature of the townscape. The same applies to the church and the medieval parcelling of the town centre.
