Rochsburg Castle, probably founded in the late 12th century, stands on a rocky outcrop above the village of Rochsburg, a district of Lunzenau in Saxony, surrounded on three sides by the Zwickauer Mulde River. It is located in the Mulden-Chemnitztal landscape conservation area and is completely enclosed by the Mittleres Zwickauer Muldental (Middle Zwickauer Mulden Valley) protected area, the Täler in Mittelsachsen (Talles in Central Saxony) bird sanctuary, and the Um die Rochsburg nature reserve. The Karl May Cave, also known as the Little Iron Cave, is located in the Waldenburg Upper Forest near Hohenstein-Ernstthal. Originally a mine tunnel dating back to 1620, it was later used as a shelter. In 1869, Karl May hid here when he was wanted for theft. Five years later, he mentioned the cave in his story "The Rose of Ernstthal." It was officially named after him in 1933. During the GDR era, it was closed to the public. Today, however, it can be easily visited again and serves as a reminder of the famous author.

Very nice tour, without traffic, alternating between walls and fields with great views. The destination "Klaffenbach Water Castle" is worth it, a beautiful park, restaurants... everything is highly recommended

Ideal starting point for hiking tours. You can also visit Rochsburg Castle.

The idea is good, and it is nice in parts. But it is much easier on foot or with an e-mountain bike. The route is strenuous and hilly.
