A lovely destination for a day trip; simply walk along the beach and enjoy.

In our opinion, the west beach is the only pristine beach. There, you can see and feel the power of nature firsthand. However, you have to visit this beach regularly. What once invited you to relax in the summer is no longer there after the winter storms. And that's precisely what makes this place so appealing, although fortunately, it's not accessible (except for the lighthouse).

Darßer Ort is located on the northwestern tip of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula on the German Baltic Sea coast. The western beach is an approximately 14-kilometer-long, natural beach that is part of the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. The beach is characterized by its wildness; here you will find fallen trees, flotsam, and untouched dunes. Darßer Ort is not accessible by car. It can be reached on foot, by bicycle (also with a bicycle trailer or on the Darßbahn), or by horse-drawn carriage.

A touch of wildness and romance wafts along the western beach of the Darß. It was named one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world by the television channel arte. The approximately 13 km long western beach of the Baltic Sea peninsula of Darß offers a special, unspoiled charm. A walk here is something special at any time of year. After storms, amber pieces can be found with a keen eye. Far from the noise of the streets, accessible only on foot or by bike, you will find untouched nature where wind and waves still exert their power and shape the beach. Trees of the Darß forest, uprooted by storms, lie across the beach, being worked on only by the forces of nature.
