🌲 The Emsdetten Brook is a true highlight for nature lovers and one of the most important forest and nature reserves right on the doorstep of Emsdetten. Unlike many commercial forests, the Brook impresses with its high proportion of old beech and oak trees. It is a structurally diverse mixed forest, parts of which are left in a very natural state.

🌿 The meadows along the Max-Clemens Canal are an important nature reserve near Emsdetten, combining nature experiences with regional history. Covering an area of approximately 160 hectares, it is one of the most important protected areas for meadow birds in the Steinfurt region. It is a valuable refuge for endangered species such as the common snipe, the black-tailed godwit, and the lapwing.

✨Park Highlights The Bagno was once one of Europe's most important amusement parks, featuring exotic structures such as a mosque and an Egyptian tower. Today, these are the highlights: Concert Hall: The park's centerpiece is the oldest freestanding concert hall on the European continent (built in 1774). First-class concerts are still held here today. Grand Avenue: An impressive 600-meter-long axis of chestnut and linden trees that offers a direct view of the nearby Steinfurt Water Castle. Bagno Square: A modernly designed area with water fountains and a kiosk, ideal for a short break.

🌷 The Steinfurt Bagno is a fascinating destination that uniquely combines nature and culture. Its name derives from the Italian "il bagno" (the bath), referring to a bathhouse built there in the 18th century.

Nestled in the heart of the Gronenburg mixed deciduous forest, a new final resting place has opened: the Gronenburg Forest Cemetery. Since August 2025, burials under trees 🌳 have been possible here – close to nature, dignified, and in harmony with the natural world.
