Great place to grab a coffee and get a snack. Offers lots of vegan and gluten free options as well.

What a gem this place is. Homemade food, great staff, a warm welcome and very popular with lovely views of the canal

We were a team of six doing the LEJOG and this was a great stop for us. Very bike friendly with great food.

This bridge is located along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and connects the Purton area to the wider canal system. It is a swing bridge with a control room operated by a keeper to manage its movements. The Purton site also features a historic boat graveyard, where old ship hulls were used to reinforce the canal embankment,

while mostly rideable, the bit between Purton and Slimbridge can be a bit rough and ready and I struggled on my road bike, but then I was a bit silly taking it here in the first place.

A fine country pub in the beautifully quiet Sheepscombe village. Perfect for a mid ride refreshment. Pairs well with the Cherry Glade Campsite should you decide to end your ride here.

"Splatt Bridge" is one of eighteen bridges on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. Some of the bridges have classically styled keeper's cottages with Greek columns and pediment.

Food was excellent but took an age to arrive as cafe was far too busy - need to avoid Saturdays in future

A scenic stretch of the ride alongside the River Severn. A great place to spot vast flocks of birds over the water.

The Anchor Inn serves drinks, snacks and traditional pub food. Open 11:30 - 22:00.

The Pilot Inn at Hardwicke offers traditional pub food with a nice view. Open Mon to Thurs 12:00 - 22:00, Fri and Sat 12:00 - 23:00 and Sun 12:00 - 21:00. Food served Mon to Fri 12:00 - 14:30 and 17:00 - 20:30, Sat 12:00 - 21:00 and Sun 12:00 - 19:30.

Nice location to unwind

Fantastic climb from Sheepscombe up to the B4070 near Fostons Ash Inn. The woodland is stunning and peaceful. The climb can be a bit steep in places, especially the last section, and will be particularly challenging in the wet.
