Beautiful castle with great green area.

A Slavic hill fort from the 6th century, the remains of which are still preserved today, was built in the 11th and 12th centuries. In the 19th century, the Meinheringen burgraves of Neuchâtel converted it into an almost square low castle made of quarry stone. The castle complex was first mentioned in a document in 1198 by Margrave Dietrich von Meißen in a document issued to the Lausnitz monastery. The keep with the round tower known locally as the "Matzturm" and a pointed arched portal as well as remains of the wall have been preserved from the original system.
