The Wendebach reservoir is a natural lake that was created in 1973 by artificial damming for flood protection. The area is used as a recreation area. The bathing area has a bathing jetty and a non-swimmer area, which is looked after by the DLRG.

A great swimming lake including a small restaurant. Great place for a break or as a destination for a tour to have a cool drink at the end. The “Taverne am See” restaurant is only open in summer. Beautiful cycle path in the Gartetal between the B27 and Diemarden (part of the cycle route LK GÖ V33). At the level of the old Diemarden quarry, a wooden bridge leads across the garden. For families with children: Depending on the water level, you can also splash around there.
