Wurtsboro is a small village in Sullivan County that was once a bustling town along the D&H Canal. Today, it features several cafés and restaurants, and two trails, the Long Path and the D&H Canal Towpath Trail, pass through the southern end of the village.

Amazing views and interesting change in the landscape along the spur leading to Sam's Point. It's definitely worth doing.

The trail opens onto white stone ledges that give you a bird's eye view over the treetops. About two thirds of a mile directly south from here, the trees drop away suddenly at Verkeederkill Falls.

Great viewpoint onto Matamoros. To access it, you need to leave the Shawangunk Ridge Trail for several yards.

The Bashakill Wildlife Management Area encompasses over 2,200 acres of diverse ecosystems. The trails on the property pass through forests, meadows, and wetlands, which all serve as host to a bunch of different plants and animals. As great as the trails are out here, they are often underutilized and not crowded at all.

Running along the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border, Kittatinny Mountain is a unique part of the Great Appalachian Valley, offering fantastic, panoramic views.
