The Eisbach and Schwabinger Bach are two artificially created waterways in Munich's English Garden, fed by the Isar River. The Eisbach is best known for its famous standing wave, considered a unique urban surfing spot. The Schwabinger Bach flows through the northern part of the English Garden and is a popular place for walking, relaxing, and water sports. Both streams contribute significantly to the park's recreational and natural atmosphere.

A really beautiful place on the Isar! A place to linger, look around and be amazed at how many people relax, swim and have fun here! 👍 Plus a great river landscape in the middle of the city. Anyone coming from the flat country and cycling there 🚴🏻‍♂️ might get a little jealous at this point. Great, recommended as a detour!

The Isar gravel areas on the Flauchersteg are very popular. More families with children than further north towards the city center. The boardwalk itself is also well worth seeing and can only be navigated slowly. Here you can let your soul dangle.

The regional train rumbles above you and the green Isar ripples below you. And beautiful beer gardens await on both banks - what's missing for cyclists?

beautiful cycle path, sometimes unpaved

If the English Garden is only the 8th largest park in the world (Statista 2014), it is still the most beautiful because it is in Munich. For me, the northern part is the most beautiful. There is less hustle and bustle and you can lie down and enjoy the sun and the peace. I now have a dog and the dog is allowed to play with other dogs in the northern part (near the Aumeister) without a leash.
