On virtually deserted roads we go through the fruit fields in the Rottental.

Starting from the famous Vuisse hill which climbs up to Montorge or up to Chandolin for the most motivated.

The road up from Aven to Derborence is an absolute highlight. You always feel like you've been transported to the most beautiful Gorges de la Provence. Small, winding roads flanked by barren, mighty cliffs on one side and a steep precipice down to the Lizerne on the other. Over the years, the Lizerne has cut an impressive gorge into the landscape. A special highlight are the road tunnels along the route. A true work of craftsmanship from the old days. Be sure to bring lights with you. Some of the tunnels are relatively long and the roads narrow.

From the plain near Goday, after the long climb from the direction of Conthey, you can continue up towards the mountain peaks in four directions. One of these paths leads to Lac de Derborence. A beautiful mountain lake, which, especially in autumn, together with the snow-covered peaks and the golden larches, creates an absolutely impressive picture. Tables and benches at Lac de Derborence invite you to linger. You can enjoy a delicious meal at the Refuge du Lac Derborence. There is a large car park just a few minutes' walk from the lake. Of the four dead-end roads mentioned, this is definitely the most visited.
