Gorgeous little lighthouse between Lunderston Bay and Greenock, along National Cycle Route. It's a shared pavement section here, which can be a bit narrow in places and often has cars parked on it, stay awake!

Kip Marina Village is a modern marina which is surrounded by quite new tidy houses on the north side. The marina is well presented

This is an elegant building, now in use as a Wetherspoons bar. It has multiple floor levels

The churches and religious buildings are not small in Greenock. There are many different ones scattered across the skyline view

The ships anchor is one of the features you see while riding along the esplanade approaching Greenock West. Dog walkers & plenty people also use this walkway, but it is wide enough for everyone

Still riding on the cycleway on the esplanade, the view looking back to Gourock is a nice sight

There's an enjoyable promenade to ride on here, flat surface, fairly quick going. In warmer summer months many people will be walking along here. Use a bell on your bike

On a nice weathers day you can see spectacular views over the River Clyde to the north side. Snow capped hills, the town of Dunoon, boats sailing. It can also be windy and rainy here. Be prepared

This is the ferry that takes you to the north side of Dunoon. National Cycle Route 75 (NC75) is part of the ferry route

Cloch Lighthouse overlooks the River Clyde estuary. Looking across the water you can see Dunoon from this location. The lighthouse is a big structure that can be seen from numerous surrounding locations

Early morning sunrise looking east. It was a cold night and ice was in many places on the roads. I had to keep a alow speed after several small slides. The views are good as the sun rises.

Elevated views can be seen looking back at the town of Kilmacolm. This town is set inland away from the River Clyde estuary

This building is disused & rundown. Itvhas been a bigmansion with castle like features at some point. Komoot shows a track through the grounds but it is overgrown as of March 2024. You have to lift the bike over two fences to get through this place

The surface of the NC75 route is new, it must have been resurfaced recently as of March 2024. Very smooth, fast to ride on normally, however, it aas covered in ice after a cold night on March 1st 2024. I rode this at about 8am

Greenock is a compact town that is quite densely built. Many 4 of 5 storey buildings exist on the fairly steep hillside above the River Clyde. Many historical buildings exist

Good wee coffee stop.

Situated directly opposite Dunoon. Designed by Thomas Smith, with Stevenson, and built in 1797. Was automated around 1990’s.

The Cloch Lighthouse, created in 1797 by Thomas Smith and Robert Stevenson, features a round tower with triangular windows and added foghorns. Back then, the light's lenses floated in mercury and were turned by hand. Today, it's automated.

The fisheries cafe is basic but serves good food cooked to order and an often very welcome hot drink. Worth a pit stop when running here.
