Åre 옛 교회는 12세기에 지어졌으며 18세기에 현재의 모습과 내부 장식을 갖추게 되었습니다. 성 니콜라스와 니다로스로 가는 순례자들의 필수 경유지였으며 오늘날 스웨덴 산악 지역의 유일한 중세 석조 교회입니다.

Fröåtjärnen Lake, near Åre, offers a peaceful escape for cyclists. The still waters reflecs the surrounding mountains and trails wind through forests, leading to the lake's shores. There is a little beach to swim, and a barbecue area for a picnic.

The central square of the town of 3,000 inhabitants is Åre torg. It is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, discos and shops. This is where locals and hordes of holidaymakers come together to enjoy the attractions of this ski resort, one of Sweden's oldest and most important.

Despite all the features due to the expansion to twice the length in the 18th century, the main impression of "Gamla Kyrka", the old church of Åre, remains that of a medieval stone church at the foot of Åreskutan. It is the only such structure in the mountains of Scandinavia. It was built by the farmers of Åre municipality at the end of the 12th century. They built their church near Lake Åre and the village of Totten. The pilgrim traffic towards Stiklestad and Nidaros (Trondheim) may also have been important for the building of the church. The church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It offers space for 120 visitors.

If you can find the money for the ticket, which is by no means cheap, you won't get bored here, even after several days, due to the sheer number of routes. A full face and protectors are not required here, but of course make sense.
