It was first documented as a hilltop castle in 1330. Today, educational courses are held here.

The castle in Buchenau consists of several building groups. The oldest structure, the old castle or "Seckendorff Castle and Spiegel Castle," is separated from the hillside by a deep moat. Parts of the ring wall and the extensive moat of the medieval castle complex have survived.

Burg Fürsteneck

Road surface is mediocre in places so be careful on your road bike. Also watch out for pedestrians. I prefer the path in the North direction as the surface impurities do not matter as much while ascending. Going South, still worth to include, just be careful :)

Would not advise the cubble stone path on the bridge for the road bike but perfect on any other bike. For the road cyclsits, the road next to it works good enough.

Two very nice bike paths

A very interesting building. The development of the castle began in the 16th century. For a long period of time, members of the noble family lived here: Schenck zu Schweinsberg. Today, a hotel operates here.
