The inland lake is connected to the Rügen Bodden by a natural canal (Baaber Bek) and is only separated from the Baltic Sea by a narrow strip of land. At the small harbor of Sellin you can get very close to the lake and enjoy the view of the other end, which is almost two kilometers away.
