Later, it was replaced by a single-nave Romanesque church made of sandstone from the Upper Weser. The masonry of this church is still preserved in the north wall and tower. St. Mary's Church, a former sailors' church. This small church in the North German Brick Gothic style was built between 1417 and 1425. It consists of a short, single-aisled nave with a gable roof and a recessed choir with a 5/8-window end and original pointed arch window.
