Good by bike, not so recommended on foot. What is recommended, however, is a trip to the monastery café. Fantastically delicious cake🥧. There is also a nice playground there, but unfortunately it is sometimes quite littered

Neu Barenau Castle is a two-story castle in Bramsche. The von Bar family had the two-story, neo-Romanesque manor house built between 1857 and 1862 below the Kalkriese mountain by the Hanoverian architect Hermann Hunaeus in the English country house style. They previously lived in the moated castle Alt Barenaue, which is now located on the other side of the Mittelland Canal. The castle is privately owned, so it can only be viewed from the outside.

The complex is still a late medieval moated castle from 1597. Since 1949 it has been a Benedictine abbey.

There is a small café with delicious cakes and a lovely terrace at the monastery. The monastery shop is also located in the same building.
