If you visit Storkow (Mark) Castle, you'll find the Visitor Center (BIZ) of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. In the exhibition, you can discover the natural and cultural history of the region on three levels – the tour begins with the Ice Age and continues to the present day. Historical illustrations and maps await you on the top floor, giving you an insight into the castle's origins. The event series "You and Your Garden in the Nature Park" is particularly exciting, where experienced instructors show you how to care for your garden, make medicinal herbal ointments, or learn more about the garden's animal inhabitants. The staff at the tourist information center have many tips for excursions and discovery tours for you – whether you're traveling alone, with friends, or with family. You can find more information and opening hours here: https://www.dahme-heideseen-naturpark.de/erleben-lernen/info-ausstellung/besucherzentrum-burg-storkow.

Hello everyone. We did this tour yesterday with the Komoot app. At the level of the Skabi Torfsee, the district forester came towards us and asked us what we were doing here and how we got here. We explained the route from Spreenhagen to him and that we were hiking with the Komoot app. He didn't think that was so great and said that there were already legal proceedings against Komoot because this route goes over private property. We should have seen 3 signs, which unfortunately we didn't, apart from signs such as Danger to life mining lake and former military training area. We were supposed to go past the wall and then right through the open barrier, where one of these signs said no entry to private property. Do any of you know this case? Maybe Frank Meyer, who hikes a lot? Would something happen to me if I made my tour public? Greetings, Sille.

King Frederick William I, known as the "Soldier King", loved the town of Wusterhausen since his youth. Here he prepared for his reign, developed new ideas for a well-organized and economical state administration and began to build a respectable army, known as the "Tall Guys".

Königs Wusterhausen Castle in the town of the same name south-east of Berlin in the state of Brandenburg became known as the preferred residence of the "soldier king" Friedrich Wilhelm I and as the location of his tobacco colleges. The listed building has been a museum since 2000. The two-storey, almost square structure was built up to the upper floor using fieldstone. It shows the type of “solid house” that was obligatory for the Renaissance. The north and south sides of the building show the gable fronts with steep and parallel gabled roofs that are characteristic of the palace. On the northern courtyard facade is the upstream stair tower, shifted from the central axis, with a slate-covered tail cap. In the ballroom of the castle there are about 40 paintings that the soldier king painted himself between 1735 and 1739 in Kossenblatt Castle and that only came to Wusterhausen in 1863. In front of the castle are the two cavalier houses, which together form the trapezoidal courtyard. Source: Wikipedia
