A fantastic cycling route with rest stops amidst beautiful nature and expansive views across the fields to the Elbe 1 and Elbe 2 power lines. Because this route is so popular, additional rest areas have been built. It's also a great place for a hike. Since the route runs directly alongside the railway line, you can end your tour at any time and take the train back. Perhaps plan your trip accordingly.

A winter hike on Stadersand is highly recommended in sub-zero temperatures 🌡️ 👍🏻. Observing the ice floes along the Elbe riverbank is both worthwhile and interesting.

The Protestant Church of St. Martin and St. Nicholas is a predominantly Gothic hall church in Steinkirchen (in the Altes Land region) in the Stade district of Lower Saxony. It belongs to the Steinkirchen parish in the Stade church district of the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of Hanover and is known for its organ by Arp Schnitger. It is very beautiful and a visit is highly recommended.

The city of Stade is beautiful and a popular destination, especially in the old town, but also throughout the city. Along the Elbe River, there is plenty of beautiful natural scenery to admire. You can see the ships on the Elbe with their landing stages, and the fruit farms of the local fruit growers. The Altes Land region thrives on apple cultivation. The surrounding villages are also worth a visit.

New seating areas have been installed, complete with information panels. A beautiful hiking and cycling route runs alongside the railway line. Highly recommended.

Lühe - Lower Light As early as 1868, a harbor light with a sixth-order lens light is said to have stood on the west side of the Lühe estuary. It was a small, round, white tower with a focal height of 36.5 feet and a range of 5 nautical miles. The light shone in all directions out onto the Elbe and the surrounding landscape. Between 1872 and 1873, the Hamburg Senate had five new lighthouses built along the Elbe. Thus, in 1873, a wooden lighthouse with a sixth-order lens and a kerosene lamp as its light source was erected at the Lühe estuary. A leading line was established at Lühe and Grünendeich on the Lower Elbe in 1899. Both of these lights are still standing today. The upper light from this period is still in operation.
