The wooden bridge is certainly an eye-catcher when I drove over it on my road bike. Would the wooden planks of the wooden bridge have been more enjoyable than the smooth surface of the car bridge?

Texas in the middle of Lower Saxony and in the middle of nowhere. But there is a great road here that is easy to drive on with a racing car, coupled with little to no traffic. And to round off the tour, it goes through some forest, past a glider airfield and on the other side through a small town that doesn't seem to be any closer to the center of the world. So if you are looking for peace and quiet and the best conditions, then you have come to the right place.

From the roundabout down to Volkse (or the other way around) you can cycle quite well on this cycle path. It gets narrow at the Oker bridge, but there is still a separate cycle lane and it is still easy to use. The Oker itself flows quietly here and is surrounded by greenery in the summer. Pretty.
