The Beesdau manor is located in the town of the same name in Brandenburg. Its origins can probably be traced back to the 14th century, perhaps even earlier. Sallgast Castle was built as a moated castle in the 12th century. During the Thirty Years' War the castle was besieged by Swedish troops but not taken. It was converted into a four-winged castle.
