Next to the monastery is a small church with a nice view over the whole bay and its surroundings. You can walk there (10 mins from the main street) and also reach it by car/ scooter. It‘s definitely worth the effort.

Beautiful church complex, at the top of the summit, even with a kitchen and toilet. Fantastic view.

On the way up to Prophet Elias, hidden in the rocks, a small chapel, the door is difficult to open, but be sure to look inside.

Pothia, the main town of Kalymnos, is spread over a wide area in a semicircle on the surrounding hills. The port basin of Pothia, often also called Kalymnos City, is one of the largest in the entire Dodecanese Islands.
