Beautiful climb with a magnificent view. The asphalt is very bad in places (12.24) and can be dangerous downhill. Moderate gradient, also suitable for beginners.

The large village of Leonidio has become in recent years a destination for climbers from all over Europe while retaining its character as a prosperous agricultural town. The site, at the foot of the rock of Leonidio is very impressive.

The road is beautiful, the asphalt is like velvet and the relief is all jagged. Sometimes, the road passes along the edge of beaches, ideal for taking a dip.

Nauplia (Ancient Greek: ἡ Ναυπλία) was the port of Argos, in ancient Argolis. It was situated upon a rocky peninsula, connected with the mainland by a narrow isthmus. It was a very ancient place, and is said to have derived its name from Nauplius, the son of Poseidon and Amymone, and the father of Palamedes, though it more probably owed its name, as Strabo has observed, to its harbour. This coastal city is the capital of the regional unit of Argolis and an important tourist destination. Founded in antiquity, the city became an important seaport in the Middle Ages during the Frankokratia as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, held initially by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade before coming under the Republic of Venice and, lastly, the Ottoman Empire. Squeezed by the fertile agricultural plain all the way to the edge of the sea, the coastal road barely leaves a narrow sliver of the pebble beach, further consumed by sea level rise. The views are great, but the lack of a shoulder can make the road uncomfortably tight during busy traffic times.
