The entire hike traverses a beautiful inland area. There's a fair amount of climbing on rocky paths. Beware of wild, unleashed dogs along the way and bring plenty of water. The descent to the coast is primarily via the paved road.

The ancient theater of Epidaurus is located at the southeastern end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient healing god, Asclepius, in the Asclepion of Epidaurus. It is built on the western slope of Mount Kynortio. It is located near present-day Lygourio in Argolida and belongs to the Municipality of Epidaurus. It is considered the most perfect ancient Greek theater in terms of acoustics and aesthetics.
