Great view - in good weather you can see individual Alpine peaks

The Aescher Klus is the largest contiguous wine-growing region in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. A wide variety of grape varieties thrive here on over 20 hectares. Numerous paths crisscross the vineyards, and it seems like every section of the vines has its own vineyard cottage. An interesting fact: In 1966, excavations at a depth of four meters uncovered the remains of grapevines that could be dated to the 3rd to 4th centuries AD.

With the construction of the new railway line between Aesch and Grellingen, the cycle path was also renovated. It is now completely paved. In Grellingen, near the former paper mill, the path connects to the railway line in such a way that crossing the tracks is no longer necessary. A great connection and very safe, much better than the parallel Grellingerstrasse road above.

Easy to drive (during the week, otherwise there is too much traffic 🚴‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️‍➡️🧑‍🦽‍➡️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👫) The route itself is rather boring.

Very nice view of the Rhine and the old town of Basel.

A new relatively short stretch of cycle path from Flüh to Leymen. It runs along the tram line. Together with the cycle path from Biel-Benken to Flüh there is a slightly higher alternative, but without traffic instead of the main road down by the riding school. And the view is more beautiful here anyway...

First mentioned in 1144 and rebuilt in 1781, this remote chapel is tucked away in a valley near Sondersdorf. It was once a parish church and later a place of pilgrimage, with an unusual painted coffered ceiling and Gothic tabernacle.

Basel is a beautiful city that is worth visiting.
