There is a shelter at the Hirtenfels. From there you have a great view of the surroundings and the Palatinate Forest. Right next to it is the Kosakenfels.

The Hirtenfels with its 630m above sea level is well integrated into a beautiful hiking tour from Dannenfels over the Adlerbogen and Ludwigsturm. From the summit of the Hirtenfels you have a wonderful view of the Palatinate.

Great hut with good food and nice benches.

There are really great places to rest at this hut, the benches are set up very carefully and you have a great view from here. It was also open today and the ice-cold drinks were good in the heat.

The Rahnenhof is named after its last owner among the Leiningen counts, namely Johann Jacob Rahn (1744 – 1816). After his death, the (previously named) "Ludwigshoff" was given the name "Rahnenhof". The Ungeheuersee in the Leininger Sporn, part of the northeastern Palatinate Forest, is a shallow pond that is fed by the Krumbach. The lake has been protected as a natural monument since the 1930s.
