The Billesweiher is an idyllic natural monument with a circular path suitable for wheelchair users with a length of approx. 1 km.

An idyllic pond with places to rest, but only outdoors, there is no shelter here. The name "Billesweiher" is derived from the medieval first name Billung, which was particularly common among families of knights. The Billesweiher is surrounded by a species-poor beech cornmeal mixed forest. The water surface is lined by a more or less pronounced silting up zone. Two amphibian tunnels are built through the dam. Both the reed belt in the north and the alder fragments in the east and the silted-up zone in the inlet area are breeding and feeding areas for various bird species and spawning grounds for amphibians. https://www.enkenbach-alsenborn.de/lebenswert/sehenswertes/billesweiher/

The Steigerweiher (also called the upper Pfrimmweiher) is one of four Pfrimmweihers. The other Pfrimmweihers are (in the direction of flow): the Krebsweiher, the Mühlenweiher (lower Pfrimmweiher) and the Hetschmühlenweiher (with campsite/vinothecary). The Steigerweiher does NOT belong to any local community, but to the "Pfrimmweihergesellschaft", an association of around 40 members that was founded more than 150 years ago to protect the mills on the Pfrimm from drought through this large water reservoir. There is a rest area with a bench and table on the south bank of the Billesweiher.

I have no idea why the lower pond is really called the Steigerweiher. According to komoot, there is also Pfrimm 🤔
