Despite several changes of management in recent years, they haven't found anyone here who can cook. Drinks are great and idyllic. But several attempts to eat have failed. The quality is poor and the prices are completely exorbitant. One plus point are the beers here – a great and constantly changing selection.

There is a shelter at the Hirtenfels. From there you have a great view of the surroundings and the Palatinate Forest. Right next to it is the Kosakenfels.

The Hirtenfels with its 630m above sea level is well integrated into a beautiful hiking tour from Dannenfels over the Adlerbogen and Ludwigsturm. From the summit of the Hirtenfels you have a wonderful view of the Palatinate.

Very nice hut on the hill of the Donnersberg with Palatinate specialties. Ideal for summer, but also worth a trip in autumn. The Ludwigsturm is very close by. The Celtic hut on the Donnersberg is the property of our local group. The hut is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In addition to typical hut food and drinks, a changing daily meal is offered. There is a large outdoor seating area in front of the hut, making it easy to keep your distance. More information at http://www.bastenhaus.de The Celtic hut has been converted to be barrier-free.
