We stopped there. Even when the hut is closed, there is plenty of space and seating outside

There are really great places to rest at this hut, the benches are set up very carefully and you have a great view from here. It was also open today and the ice-cold drinks were good in the heat.

Paths from all directions meet here. Among other things, this is also a good starting point for the uphill to the Königsstuhl. The ascent from here is a little less toxic than the further east Spendeltal ascent and the landscape is a tad nicer.

Very nice hut on the hill of the Donnersberg with Palatinate specialties. Ideal for summer, but also worth a trip in autumn. The Ludwigsturm is very close by. The Celtic hut on the Donnersberg is the property of our local group. The hut is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In addition to typical hut food and drinks, a changing daily meal is offered. There is a large outdoor seating area in front of the hut, making it easy to keep your distance. More information at http://www.bastenhaus.de The Celtic hut has been converted to be barrier-free. This measure was funded by the LEADER concepts ELER and EULLE of the Local Action Group (LAG) Donnersberger and Lauterer Land. http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/rurdev/index_de.htm
